As Her Majesty the Queen’s representative in Alberta, I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to the dedicated people throughout our province who are working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response. I have never been prouder of the strength and talent of my fellow Albertans.
Alberta has long been a leader in emergency preparedness and we have the right expertise, systems and planning in place to carry us through any situation. We can all help by following best practices and respecting recommendations made by officials. They are being brought forward in the interests of us all. Nothing is more important than our individual health and well-being, as well as the health of our loved ones and our communities as a whole. I encourage everyone to have patience and to think and act with compassion for others.
Our province enjoys a long tradition of meeting life’s challenges with intelligence, resilience and true strength of character. That powerful combination will continue to serve us well through this difficult period.
Again, thank you to our amazing frontline workers and to all Albertans for supporting them in their efforts!
Her Honour, the Honourable Lois E. Mitchell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta
