Media access - Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal Ceremony, July 25, 2017

Media are invited to attend the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal ceremony hosted by Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell. The July 25 ceremony will celebrate the citizenship and volunteer service of youth leaders from across Alberta.
 
When: Tuesday, July 25, 2017; 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Location: Government House, main floor, 12845 – 102 Avenue, Edmonton

Medal recipients and home town:

  • Blaine Badiuk, Grande Prairie
  • Brandon Bosma, Sherwood Park
  • Poshika Dhingra, Red Deer
  • Srishti Shrivastav, Calgary
  • Emily Vilcsak, St. Albert (family member to accept the medal on her behalf)
  • Emilie Xiao from Calgary

Chu Qian Li and Andrew Min, both from Calgary, are also receiving the medal this year but are unable to attend the ceremony.

A group photo and interview opportunities with the Lieutenant Governor and recipients will take place immediately following the ceremony. Interviews with recipients may also be arranged prior to the ceremony. Public attendance at the event is by invitation only due to limited seating.

The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal recognizes outstanding community service and volunteerism.
