Media advisory - Queen's Golden Jubilee Awards celebrate Alberta's future community, artistic leaders

Media are invited to attend the presentation of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Scholarship for the Performing Arts.

The awards recognize the exceptional volunteer service and artistic achievement of youth from across the province and support their ongoing development.

QEII Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal recipients:

  • Julia Caddy, Calgary
  • Jes Francis, Drumheller
  • Emili Gubskaya, Calgary
  • Hebatullah Iftikhar, St, Paul
  • Samiha Sajida, Edmonton
  • Sean Sander, Lethbridge

Thomas Banks and Nick Yang, both from Edmonton, are also receiving the medal this year but are unable to attend the ceremony.

QEII Golden Jubilee Scholarship for the Performing Arts (Dance)

  • Taylor Yanke, Calgary

Anna Forseth of Calgary, recipient of the QEII Golden Jubilee Scholarship for the Visual Arts, is unable to attend the ceremony.

A group photo and interview opportunities with the Lieutenant Governor and recipients will take place immediately following the ceremony. Interviews may also be arranged prior to the ceremony. Public attendance at the event is by invitation only due to limited seating.
