On Monday, January 1, 2018, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Lois Mitchell will be welcoming members of the public to Government House in Edmonton for the annual New Year's Day levee.
NOTE TO ASSIGNMENT EDITORS - Media are welcome to attend the levee. Doors will be open to the public from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on January 1. An availability with the Lieutenant Govenror will be held at approximately 2:15 p.m. Requests for one-on-one interviews outside that time may be accomodated, as the Lieutenant Governor's hosting duties allow. Goverment House is located at 12845 - 102 Avenue, Edmonton (next to the now-closed Royal Alberta Museum).
The levee is an open house-style event for the general public. It offers an opportunity to meet the Lieutenant Governor, visit historic Government House, enjoy music and light refreshments and write a postcard of thanks and encouragement to Canadian Forces members serving overseas.
