An Audience with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

Their Honours travalled to Europe for a whirlwind trip in March. The primary purpose of their trip was a private audience with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at Buckingham Palace on March 15th.

A time-honoured tradition, the Governor General and Lieutenant Governors across the country are honoured with a private audience with the Queen soon after their appointments.

Their Honours schedule was packed. The trip included attendance at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, followed by a reception, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and other Commonwealth country representatives.

Their Honours were pleased to meet His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales at Highgrove and to also visit some of the Prince's Charities in the United Kingdom, having previously support the work of Prince's Charities Canada.

Their trip was rounded off with a somber, remembrance visit, honouring Canadians heroes at Vimy Ridge in France and Flanders Field in Belgium.
