National Honours Exhibit

The National Honours Exhibit, “From Far and Wide – Honouring Great Canadians” will be on display at the Legislative Assembly Interpretive Centre from July 1 to late Fall 2014.

The touring exhibit was initiated by the Governor General’s office to reflect his Excellency’s personal mission to help build a better, smarter and more caring society. It was brought to Alberta in partnership with the Alberta Lieuteuant Governor’s Office through the Alberta Order of Excellence.

The interactive displays help Albertans connect with the stories of outstanding Canadians who have been recognized for their extraordinary achievement, bravery, valour and service.

The displays will also raise awareness of the Canadian Honours System, including the Alberta Order of Excellence. Visitors will learn more about the roles and responsibilities of the Governor General and Lieutenant Governor, and get a glimpse of insignia and medals.
