4-H Member and Leader Awards
Members Awards recognize 4-H involvement, leadership, technical, communication and interpersonal skills. The Alberta Premier’s Award is given annually to a senior 4-H member. Leader Awards recognize outstanding contributions to all levels of 4-H. The 4-H Volunteer Hall of Fame, recognizes volunteers who display significant initiative and leadership.

Premier's Award of Distinction

Honours individuals recognized for volunteerism. Includes categories for youth, adult and seniors.

Great Kids Awards
Honour children and youth who make a difference at home and in the community. Recipients serve as informal advisors to Alberta Children’s Services by providing their perspective on a range of issues affecting young Albertans. Any Albertan can nominate a Great Kid. Winners are selected by a panel of MLAs and community members. Nominees must: be a resident of Alberta who is 5-18 years old; demonstrate considerable effort in school; contribute to the community through volunteer service and to the quality of home life by willingly assuming responsibilities within the family.

Alberta Emergency Services Medal
Pays tribute to outstanding full-time, part-time and volunteer members who have committed 12 or
more years to emergency service. Eligible groups include Alberta Fire Service members; licensed emergency medical responders, emergency medical technicians and emergency medical technologists. paramedic; fire service dispatchers; certified emergency medical dispatchers; Emergency Management Alberta personnel; Alberta Fire Commissioner's Office personnel; Alberta Sustainable Resource Development personnel.

Excellence in Teaching Awards
Honour creative, innovative and effective teaching. Parents, teachers, principals, superintendents and all Albertans are encouraged to nominate an outstanding teacher or principal. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee of education community members who look for specific examples of excellence in areas including knowledge of subject matter, effectiveness with students, creative and innovative teaching practices, involvement with parents, and collaboration with colleagues.

Parks and Protected Areas Volunteer Award
Presented to volunteers and voluntary organizations for exceptional efforts to support Alberta parks and protected areas.

Norm McLeod Awards
Two annual awards recognize outstanding contributions to the community inclusion movement. Presented to an individual with a developmental disability who has inspired others through his or her achievements and community leadership. The Norm McLeod Dreamweaver award is given to an Albertan dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities.

Minister’s Seniors Services Awards
Recognize three individuals and two organizations that enhance seniors quality of life through volunteer service and personal dedication. Individuals must be Alberta resident and organizations must be registered in Alberta. Nominee must have been providing volunteer services directly to and for the benefit of seniors for a minimum of five years.

Athlete of the Year Awards
Recognize significant achievements, performances and contributions of amateur athletes at the international level. Awards are presented to one male and one female athlete in Junior category (under 21) and Open category (21 and over).
