Alberta's Highest Honour
The Alberta Order of Excellence (AOE) is the highest honour the Province of Alberta can bestow on a citizen.
The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta serves as Chancellor of the Order. He will preside over the next investiture ceremony in Edmonton on Wednesday, October 16. This will bring the total AOE membership to 132.
National Honours Exhibit
The National Honours Exhibit, “From Far and Wide – Honouring Great Canadians” will be on display at the Legislative Assembly Interpretive Centre from July 1 to late Fall 2014. The touring display, initiated by the Governor General’s office, features outstanding Canadians who have been recognized for their extraordinary achievement, bravery, valour and service.
Members of the Alberta Order of Excellence come from all walks of life. Their careers range from medicine, science, engineering, law, and business to politics, education, agriculture and the arts. The one thing all members have in common is that they have made an outstanding provincial, national, or international impact.
