Diamond Jubilee

 

On February 6, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will mark 60 years of service as Monarch. Plan to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee include a medal program to honour Canadians who have offered distinguished service to their community, province and country, as well as other celebrations.

Corrections Canada Awards Ceremony

 New Mental Health Initiative

October 5 marked the launch of the Lieutenant Governor's Circle on Mental Health and Addiction, which will focus on reducing stigma, increasing public awareness and highlighting positive steps being taken across Alberta to improve the lives of all those who are affected by mental illness and addiction.  Visit the Circle website Photos

On September 28, Their Honours took part in a ceremony to celebrate the courage and accomplishments of patients of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton. Photo 

NAIT Tour

Lieutenant Governor Ethell marked the start of the new school year with a comprehensive tour of the NAIT main campus in Edmonton where he met with students and faculty and learned about the school's many innovative programs. Photos

Red Deer Veterans' Park

September 22 marked the grand opening of the City of Red Deer's new Veteran's Park and a rededication of the city's cenotaph. Photos

Symphony Under the Sky

Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Ethell joined a full audience at Hawrelak Park for the Edmonton Symphony's annual labour day Symphony Under the Sky concert. Photos
